Hello, Xangaland. It's been a minute.

Rob's birthday party was last night, and we were talking about Xanga for a bit. I had completely forgotten about this, so after figuring out how the hell to log into it again, I am here bringing you a bit of an update.

The "what-the-hell-am-I-gonna-do-with-my-life" conundrum is getting worse these days. I'm seriously thinking that I should go finish my education certification (since band scholarships and grants would make that quite free) while I figure out what to do. I'm still going to go ahead and apply to doctoral programs. Honestly, that's probably where I'll end up. But all the same, it's very scary and I kind of have NO idea what to do.

At least I have a backup plan.

Work and school are doing their damndest to kill me. I think I may have to quit waiting tables... it's too much. I don't want to, because I DO need the money, but I could make it work if I wasn't working at the OG anymore.

I'm just so ready to get settled into some semblance of a stable life. I'm secretly looking for jobs around the Little Rock area. Oddly, I don't know if I'm ready to leave yet. Ironically, I think that's a sign that I DO need to leave for a year or two.

One thing I do know for sure: Imogen Heap is good for the soul.

So many momentous things are happening right now.

Firstly, my Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano is being published by Dorn Publications this year. I'm not entirely sure when it'll be available, but I'll let you all know when it's ready to go so you can look at it on their website... and so you can buy copies of it in mass quantities *cough*.

Veronica Lanier, my dearest "girr'friend" is graduating in the morning after finishing up an entire decade at Arkansas Tech. I'm excited for her! I know she's excited, too.

And Jessica is getting married tomorrow afternoon!

I'm really glad to be living back at my parents house. It's a little weird and it's going to take some adjusting, but I missed them. And I can honestly say that I will NOT miss paying bills at all. I'll be able to save a lot of money living here and commuting to Conway every day. Aside from the 40 minute drive, it'll be good.

Summer school starts in two weeks... I'll be glad to have something to keep myself busy. And hopefully things will continue to shape up in other departments :)

Bueno.

Hello, Xangaland. It has been far, far too long. I think I shall start updating this again, I need distraction.

I need this semester to end. Like, now. So much stuff going on. The worst of this is my paper for Music in the Twentieth Century. I don't know if I'll ever be able to listen to Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra again. At least not in the same way. And this recital that's coming up is a logistical NIGHTMARE. But everything is going well for it. Rehearsals are in full swing and everything is coming together... I just hope people show up. You should come, too--it's on Sunday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the recital hall in Snow Fine Arts Center, UCA.

Recently I've been going out a little more because I've been a little starved for friendship. I don't really do all that much with other people any more. It's gotten very depressing. I've met some really great people, though, thanks in no small part to my new friend Ray. I've never had many gay friends and it's nice to have that--people who understand the way life is for me (because it IS different, no matter what anyone says) and the things that I've gone through to get to this point.

It's been my sanity's savior as of late. And these people are fun, witty, and actually nice. Speaking of nice:

There is a possibility looming on the horizon in the form of an incredibly charming and handsome man named Tony. We shall see how things develop. He actually asked ME out--rarely happens--and that was very nice. It also means that he is interested in me, which is something that I am hopeless at picking up. Things haven't really even started to develop much yet, but I think we're clicking rather nicely. I can only hope :)

My roommate = amazing. He informed me that my MacBook DID come with iWeb. Hence, the new design on my site. It's just a template, but it looks a hell of a lot better. Coincidentally, it's the same template Robert W. Smith uses for his website. If it's good enough for him, then it'll certainly do for me.

Check it out.
